2016 Knoebels Scholarship Recipients

We are so very proud to announce our 2016 Knoebels Scholarship recipients! This year’s recipients include ten team members from eight departments who are on the path to becoming future educators, scientists, businesspeople, and more!

We offer a number of added benefits for our 2,000+ team members each season such as special events, free passes to more than 15 amusement parks, and tickets and food coupons for select weeks. Another benefit for school-aged team members is the Knoebels Scholarship program. We have awarded approximately $93,000 to 186 student team members since the inception of the program in 1997.

This year’s recipients include:

Megan Ciborowski (Crystal Pool), daughter of Robert and Eileen Ciborowski, Coal Township, 2012 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending Wilkes University, majoring in Pharmacy

Joseph Davis (Playland Arcade), son of Jeffrey and Debbie Davis, Elysburg, 2016 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School, attending Bloomsburg University, majoring in Business/Supply Chain Management

Emma Donmoyer (JBK), daughter of Duane and Marcy Donmoyer, Paxinos, 2015 graduate of Northumberland Christian School, attending Houghton College, majoring in Music Education

Emily Henderson (Games), daughter of Charles and Joella Henderson, Hawley, 2016 graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, attending Bloomsburg University, majoring in Theatre Production

Julia Mudrock (Crystal Pool), daughter of Andrew and Michelle Mudrock, Elysburg, 2015 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School, attending Duquesne University, majoring in Integrated Marketing & Communication

Brady Petrovich (Rides), son of David and Dyan Petrovich, Paxinos, 2015 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School, attending Susquehanna University, majoring in Chemistry/Environmental Science

Ivy Savidge (Old Mill), daughter of Kurt Savidge & Carrie Brabitz, Coal Township, 2016 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending California University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Anthropology/Forensic Science

Molly Shoup (Gift Shops), daughter of Wayne Shoup & Raymond and Georgette Williams, Elysburg, 2016 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School, attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in Geology

Austin Stine (Grounds), son of Daniel and Diana Stine, Sunbury, 2014 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending Susquehanna University, majoring in Finance

Jessica Watkins (Playland Arcade), daughter of Fred and Betty Watkins, Elysburg, 2014 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School, attending Misericordia University, majoring in Nursing

The 2016 scholarship judging committee consisted of two local community leaders who are not employed by Knoebels. Scholarships were judged based on the students’ written applications and a work performance evaluation completed by the applicants’ department manager. 

In addition to being this year’s Knoebels Scholarship recipients, six Knoebels team members have been nominated for a 2016 Pennsylvania Amusement Parks Association (PAPA) scholarship. Those students include: Megan Ciborowski, Emily Henderson, Katelin Ivey, Julia Mudrock, Molly Shoup, and Jessica Watkins.
